Ilagan City is a 1st class city and the capital of the province of Isabela, Philippines. Located in the Cagayan Valley region (Region II), it is known as the "Corn Capital of the Philippines" and a rapidly growing tourism destination in Northern Luzon.
Ilagan was founded in 1686 by Spanish missionaries. The city played a significant role during the Spanish colonial period and World War II, as evidenced by historical sites like the Ilagan Japanese Tunnel. The city was officially converted into a city on August 11, 2012.
